ETNA RED – NORTH SIDE
Book presentation and wine tasting guided by Giorgio Fogliani with Samuel Cogliati
The producers will be present during the session
Sala Piranesi
Sunday 19 February, 2 pm
It is a region of very ancient wine-growing tradition, but only recently has Etna finally received the deserved attention of the public and critics. The lava flows of the volcano have given rise over the centuries to a particularly suitable terroir for growing grapes, and the evocative terraces of lava stone, the ancient millstones and the high average age of the vines, some of which are ungrafted only add to the charm of this area. To the northern slope, mainly devoted to red wines, is dedicated the work of Giorgio Fogliani, in a book that takes both a historical and a geographical approach, as well as offering tasting notes of a selection of wines from some of its most talented winemakers. Together with the presentation of the book and the territory, we will taste five red wines of Etna from Live Wine exhibitors.
