JURA: TERROIRS, PRODUCERS, WINES
Samuel Cogliati interviews François Morel
Sala Piranesi
Saturday 5th March at 5 pm
If we want to point out a wine region in full renovation, Jura is certainly one of the first that comes to mind. Not that this was a sleepy terroir, but until not long ago it stood merely on the sidelines of the country’s wine landscape, undoubtedly because of its geographic position, the modest dimensions of its appellations and the peculiarity of its wines, of which vin jaune is the most outstanding one. Today – meaning in the last twenty to thirty years – the dynamism, emulation and creativity of the vignerons shape a new character and renewed interest in jurassian wines.
François Morel will illustrate Jura for us. He has almost half a century of experience, 15 years of which as editor-in-chief of the most authoritative independent wine journal in France – LeRouge&leBlanc – and is one of the most highly regarded voices beyond the Alps. Morel presents one of his two latest books, published by Possibilia Editore, dedicated to the Loire.
