Wine personalities: Ezio Cerruti

Ezio Cerruti is known by most for his passito “Sol” made from Moscato grapes, a real treat for those who like these type of wines when they are not sticky-sweet. Perhaps it is for the way he lets the grapes dry on the plant, exposing them to the climatic variations of autumn, or perhaps because the guy knows his stuff, in any case few can resist the fascination of this wonderful wine. Those who know Ezio well know also that he is producing some convincing dry wines from Moscato grapes, but the quantities are still too little to satisfy the requests of all the lucky ones who have had the chance to taste them. Photo ©Francesco Orini
